Thursday Night, Joe and I got to see the Broadway Magic Show, The Illusionists. I was blown away by the SPECTACULAR SHOW!! When my husband told me we were going to a magic show I automatically imagined how cheesy and lame it would be. Look at me I am pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Clap! Clap! Whew Who! Believe me, we have seen quite a few cheesy magic shows. But the Illusionist is everything that those cheesy magic shows are not. It was edgy, funny, entertaining, family friendly (with the exception of one or two jokes and gestures), smart and most importantly high quality. They really invested in magicians that are the best at their crafts. After all, it is Broadway.
Joe (The most handsome hubby in the universe) usually gets free tickets to the Broadway productions that come to Fresno. Because the tickets are comped we usually have to sit near the back row. But tonight for the magic show he got tickets that were so close we could touch the stage. We sat in front of the front row in special VIP seating. Anyone that has been to a magic show knows that the closer you are to magic performers the better it is. This is not true for all shows but magic shows you want to be as close as possible. We were so close that the magic cards they were using and throwing during the act were falling on our laps. I think we had acquired a whole deck of cards by time the night was over.
The magicians that made the show so great were: The Anti Conjuror, The Inventor, The Weapon Master, The Deductionist, The Trickster, The Escapologist and The Manipulator.
They all put on The most AWESOME tricks in their field. My favorite magician of the night was probably the guy from Dublin. I am not sure if I liked his magic tricks or his accent better? He was the deductionist. He did some awesome tricks. I won’t ruin the show for you, but he was my personal fav.
